Q & A
- What is the Airbrush Tanning process?
The tanning process uses an ingredient called dihydroxyacetone(DHA) to react with the skins amino acids. It is derived from sugarcane. Our solution is water and aloe based. There is no alcohol like many other solutions used. - What kind of results can I expect?
The darker you can tan naturally, the darker this application will come out. - How long will my tan last?
This really depends on your skin and care you give your skin following the tanning process. The tanning process only produces color on the very outermost layer of the skin, the epidermis, and the outer layer is being discarded cell by cell. As these cells are discarded your tan fades. The range of time can be from 7 - 10 days. Take care of your skin, moisturize. Long baths, hot tubs, long showers, chlorine, salt water coupled with neglecting to moisturize will fade your tan faster. - What are the benefits and challenges associated with the tanning process?
If you have used a sunless self tanner, you may have experienced some of the problems that resulted: orange coloration, tanned palms/feet/elbows/knees/streaking and blotches. The airbrush tanning process virtually eliminates most problems associated with the self-tanners. Too much spray can result in an orange tint. So, I suggest that an individual tan a maximum of twice per week. Following each tanning session, avoid perspiring as this could affect the evenness of the tan. Avoid sitting on leather seats, avoid tight clothes and do not shower for a minimum of 4 hours. - Are there any side effects to tanning this way?
The worst reaction I know of is a person broke out with an acne bump or two. - Airbrush tanning not suggested for women who are pregnant.
- MOST IMPORTANT!! The Airbrush Tan does not serve as a protection layer from the sun. Use sunscreen. Always avoid exposure to the skin.
